Laparoscopic Fundoplication for GERD

This video demonstrate Laparoscopic Fundoplication surgery performed at World Laparoscopy Hospital. A Nissen fundoplication, or laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication when performed via laparoscopic surgery, is a surgical procedure to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and hiatal hernia. Laparoscopic antireflux surgery remains a highly effective treatment in 80%-90% of patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Despite this, 10%-20% of patients continue to have symptoms postoperatively. Of these, some 3%-6% require a second surgery.
